چکیده

Agricultural development in northern polar areas has potential as a result of global warming. Such expansion requires modern soil surveys and large-scale maps. In this study, the abandoned arable experimental field founded by I.G. Eichfeld one century ago Salekhard city (Russian Arctic), located circle, was investigated. Our aims were to assess nutritional properties their spatial variability. For assessment mapping, ordinary kriging (OK) inverse distance-weighted (IDW) methods employed. We found that due long-term agriculture use, cover represented unique Plaggic Podzol (Turbic) is not typical region. The characterized relatively low organic carbon (SOC) content, high acidity content plant-available forms phosphorus humus-accumulative horizon. results showed some (pH H2O, pH CaCl2) heterogeneity clear dependence. However, (ammonium nitrate nitrogen, basal respiration) pure-nugget effect, presumably experimentation with fertilizer over long period time.

Cultural Resilience of Social-ecological Systems in the Nenets and Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrugs, Russia: A Focus on Reindeer Nomads of the Tundra

Empirical data on resilience in social-ecological systems (SESs) are reviewed from local and regional scale case studies among full-time nomads in the neighboring Nenets and Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrugs, Russia. The focus is on critical cultural factors contributing to SES resilience. In particular, this work presents an integrated view of people situated in specific tundra landscapes that fa...

High resilience in the Yamal-Nenets social-ecological system, West Siberian Arctic, Russia.

Tundra ecosystems are vulnerable to hydrocarbon development, in part because small-scale, low-intensity disturbances can affect vegetation, permafrost soils, and wildlife out of proportion to their spatial extent. Scaling up to include human residents, tightly integrated arctic social-ecological systems (SESs) are believed similarly susceptible to industrial impacts and climate change. In contr...

Analysis of spatial variability of soil properties using geostatistics and remote sensing

Soil mapping is one of the basic studies in the natural resource sector. The purpose of this study was to analyze spatial of soil properties on the map of arid areas and deserts. For this purpose, a region with an area of 600 hectares in Qom that considered Salt Lake watershed. Specified methods used include inverse distance methods, radial functions, and prediction local general estimate. Krig...

Spatial variability of magnetic soil properties

The presence of magnetic iron oxides in the soil can seriously hamper the performance of electromagnetic sensors for the detection of buried land mines and unexploded ordnance (UXO). Previous work has shown that spatial variability in soil water content and texture affects the performance of ground penetrating radar and thermal sensors for land mine detection. In this paper we aim to study the ...
